What should I do if I have a broken tooth?

Rinse your mouth with warm water to clean the area around the broken tooth. If there is any bleeding, apply a piece of gauze or a clean cloth to the area for about 10 minutes or until the bleeding stops. Apply a cold compress to the outside of the mouth or cheek to reduce swelling. Contact your dentist for an appointment to assess the extent of the damage and determine the appropriate treatment.
